Aaron and Laura | Milwaukee Wedding

Aaron and Laura got married at East Brook church where Laura grew up. It was a beautiful wedding full of people who were so excited to be celebrating with them! It was followed by an intimate reception at The Coast, downtown Milwaukee right on the Lake.

I knew instantly when I met Laura that she’d be someone I could easily get along with, and time proved that to be true! I loved getting to know her over the next couple months talking about their upcoming wedding. Aaron and Laura met at Fort Wilderness camp up North.  Laura was on staff for the summer and Aaron was volunteering for a few weeks. At their first staff night out, they happened to play Sheepshead together, and that was the beginning of it all! As Laura puts it, “for the next ten days, Aaron was quite willing to get to know me, and I was not opposed :)”

Their proposal was perfect for them! After a scavenger hunt around Milwaukee, they went ice skating (amazing!), went out for dinner, with a proposal to follow. It’s obvious when you meet Aaron and Laura how much they love each other. At their wedding, endless friends and family came up to tell me how loving and caring Aaron and Laura are. And as the night went on I could see this to be true. Not only could you see their love for each other, but they truly loved and cared about everyone who was there to celebrate with them.

But my favorite story was Aaron asking Laura’s Dad for her hand in marriage. He figured you only do this once, so why not make it memorable. So he brought a goat along to ask her Dad! While Laura wasn’t there, her parents quickly called her so she could come see what was happening. A story I’m sure no one will forget anytime soon!

On the morning of the wedding, after the finishing touches and putting on the dress, Aaron and Laura had a beautiful ceremony at Eastbrook Church in Milwaukee. Her father walked her down the aisle, Aaron and Laura shared communion together, and they made incredibly powerful vows to one another. They vowed not only to love each other, but also to work together, through hard times, annoyances, and anything else that comes, towards a long-lasting marriage.

After the ceremony there was a reception for all who came. It was wonderful seeing everyone laughing and congratulating the couple as they cut cake, took pictures, and greeted everyone. After this we headed down to Colectivo on the lakefront (did I mention they love all things Milwaukee and it’s amazing!?!). With endless predictions of storms, Aaron, Laura, and their bridal party jumped right into pictures, not at all letting the rain get in the way! And we had a great time taking pictures both at Colectivo and at The Coast.

At the Coast friends and family gathered for a more intimate reception and dinner. Toasts were made, desserts were had, stories were told, and they danced the night away. Everyone wished Aaron and Laura a beautiful marriage and life together. And towards the end of the evening, the sun came out and we were able to get some pictures in front of the Milwaukee Art Museum. The whole day was perfect!

Aaron and Laura, I’m so glad you chose me to photograph your wedding! I hope your marriage is as beautiful as you guys are and I’m excited for all that’s ahead for you two together!
